CBC Goes to the Dominican Republic – Day Two

January 19, 2017

Devotional

Topic Evangelism:  it is sharing and preaching the Word of God, to announce/proclaim the Good News of the Gospel.  An evangelist is a gift from God, Ephesians 4:11.  To lift up Jesus, as we do, He will draw all men unto Him.  God is not willing that any should perish.  He wants all to come to know Him and His love.

Outreach:

We will be going to a public high school this afternoon in the mountains and then visit a church in that area.

Yasica High School, beautiful surroundings high up in the mountains outside of Santiago, approximately 225 students and faculty. What great freedom to be able to go into a public school and give the message of Jesus openly!   We performed our skits, and they were well received.  The audience was participating with laughter, clapping, and enjoying the stories being told through the skits.   Tim followed with a short talk about salvation and the meaning of the skits.  We were there to pray for the students, and it turned into a group prayer more than individual prayer needs.  Well received!  There were about 175 students who stood up to accept the Lord.

Parts of the road were in terrible condition.  It had been raining for 4 weeks prior to our visit, and the road was washed out in many areas, we literally had to crawl over spots, We would get going at 35-40 miles an hour, then slow down to barely a crawl.  It took over an hour to make the journey.  We were told there was $1.5 billion of damage to the roads in the Dominican Republic from the rains.  We were also told by a Casa Grande staff member that the people of the Dominican blame the prolonged period of rains and damage to one of their Government Officials who voted against Israel in the United Nations.  The people of the country repented from this vote and the rains subsided.  How true this is, we do not know; but the people of the Dominican believe this.

After the school, we parked in a grassy area and ate our sandwiches, walked around the little town and then went to the church.  We sat in the service and when it was time, performed our skits and gave a couple of testimonies.  The church attendance was approximately 100.  At the end, we prayed for the Pastor as he was ill, and then we prayed for the congregation.  Some of them came up for individual prayer and the students prayed for them.  Tim had food to hand out to them and that was done at the end of prayer.

Netesha prayed for a lady with a headache and Netesha watched her open up and smile.  She told Netesha she felt better, and asked Netesha to pray for her child.

Barbara prayed for a middle-aged woman who pointed at her abdomen with pain.  Barbara prayed in tongues and the pain left.

Another older woman came up to Barbara and pointed to her chest.  Barbara prayed in tongues and the pain left the woman.

A young girl came up to Barbara for prayer for healing for a headache, and she prayed in tongues and the young girl was delivered/healed.
