CBC Goes to the Dominican Republic – Day One

January 18, 2017

Devotional:
Tim Johnson’s Casa Grande has been here in DR 21 years.  First outreach was a showing of a film at Casa Grande, 75 came to the Lord.  We are here to continue to sow the seed.  Tim wants to raise up Dominicans to reach their nation.

Outreach:
In the afternoon, we went to an area of Santiago where a church is located within an undesirable area.  The Pastor (Pastor Abel) is one whom Tim has known for 20+ years.  We went up and down the streets inviting kids/adults to the presentation.  This was late afternoon to minister to the children after school.  The truck parked on the street corner, and we performed our presentations.  It was a true street ministry, children from infants on up through adults.   Little children (5-6 year olds) came up and wanted us to hold their hands, during the entire time, they just followed us.  After the “show,” Tim and the Pastor Abel spoke to the crowd, then we prayed individually for those who wanted it, laying hands on them.  The size of the crowd was approximately 400.  We then packed up and got ready to leave.  However, before we left the area, we went to the church and prayed for Pastor Abel and his wife and his ministry team.  They were encouraged—the work in this area can be very heavy and not too rewarding in the natural.   The power of the Spirit during our prayer was dynamic.

Bryan Houser prayed for a lady.  She indicated she had pain in her throat.  With the difference in the languages, Bryan was able to minister to her through hand signals.  He received her approval to put his hand on her throat and he prayed.  Asked how great or less the pain was and it was still there, lessened though.  He returned his hand to her throat (with her approval) and prayed again and the pain left.  All Praise to our God.

Matthew saw a little boy who was frustrated because his shoes were untied and people kept stepping on his laces and he would almost fall.  Matthew bent over and tied his laces which brought a large smile on the little boy’s face.  Then the boy followed Matthew and wanted him to lays hands on his head for prayer.  The little boy was touched by Matthew’s compassion.

Nina witnessed a healing.  She and another student prayed for a Grandma who had pain in her stomach.  After they prayed, the pain left.  As the Grandma walked through the crowd, she continued to indicate her healing.  She was raising her hands to Heaven and Praising God!

Kathy personally, the most exciting part of the entire afternoon was the prayer for the Pastor and his team.  I felt the Spirit in a tangible way over his wife, I felt the anointing flowing over her like rain showering her, over and over.  Powerful time.
